Gannon Buhr Claims Second USDGC Title with Commanding

The 2024 United States Disc Golf Championship (USDGC) concluded with Gannon Buhr securing his second title at the prestigious event, held October 10–13 at Winthrop University in Rock Hill, South Carolina. Buhr’s victory adds to his impressive season, marking his third PDGA Major win and solidifying his status as one of the sport’s rising stars.

A Historic Victory

At just 19 years old, Buhr became the youngest player in history to win three PDGA MPO Majors. His performance at the USDGC was marked by consistency and composure, culminating in a final round score of 56 (-8) and a total score of -34, earning him a two-stroke victory over runners-up Calvin Heimburg and Anthony Barela.

The final round saw intense competition, with Heimburg making a significant push by shooting a 13-under 51, the highest-rated round of the tournament at 1092. Despite the pressure, Buhr maintained his lead, demonstrating poise and precision throughout the round.

Buhr’s 2024 season has been nothing short of remarkable. In addition to his USDGC win, he claimed victory at the European Open, bringing his total Major wins to three. He also secured seven Elite Series victories and topped the DGPT standings, finishing the season with a 96% top-10 finish rate and earning $211,432 in tournament prize money.
